Our Story

It all started with a swipe.

We met on Hinge — proof that sometimes the algorithm really does get it right. I’m from Louisiana, he’s from Pennsylvania, and somehow, in this big crazy world, we found each other.

Our first date was at The Henry, where we had dinner and then played putt-putt golf afterward. It was easy, light, and full of laughter — but little did I know he had a trick up his sleeve. He “accidentally” kept my ID at the end of the night, which conveniently meant I had to see him again before a concert that weekend. (Smart move, huh?)

As time went on, we realized just how different — and how perfect — we are for each other. I’m the laid-back one, and he’s definitely type A. He makes spreadsheets for fun and once tried to teach me how to properly budget. (Still a work in progress.) But somehow, it just works — beautifully.

Since then, we’ve built a life together full of the things we love — endless playlists, spontaneous concerts, and working our way through the best restaurants Dallas has to offer. It’s never boring. Robby has a way of keeping life interesting — the kind of person who, when there's a line, always knows just how to cross it. He makes me laugh constantly and reminds me not to sweat the small stuff. He’s the kind of partner who cheers the loudest for me as I juggle grad school and big dreams, and I’m the one always listening with wide eyes as he shares his next wild idea for a future project — secretly knowing he’s going to make it happen.

Fast forward to the weekend after Easter. I had just gotten off a 12-hour shift, and he had just returned from a work trip. We had dinner reservations planned for 8pm, finally celebrating Easter together. I was rushing, stuck in traffic, doing my makeup in the car, and FaceTiming him to help me pick out an outfit. (Time management was not on my side.)

On the way to dinner, he missed a turn — which, to be fair, happens often — and I couldn’t help but fuss at him just a little. A minute later, he pulled over on the side of the road and told me to get out of the car. I was completely confused… until he got down on one knee and proposed.

He somehow managed to surprise me — and leave me speechless, which doesn’t happen often.

From mismatched GPS directions to perfectly matched personalities, our story is full of laughter, support, music, and magic — and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
